Art I think what your talking about are the parameters programed into the 
ECU. Meaning they do have limits set at the factory. Depending on the 
manufacturer and equipment the parameters can be changed. In simple terms, 
the stock ECU couldnt adjust enough for the added exhaust flow which will in 
certain situations change MAP,(Manifold Absolute Pressure) and that will 
affect performance big time.
