Brad,
I indeed did go to the dealer and showed them the bike
before I consulted the list about this issue. Since
they have not gotten back to me yet I thought I would
utilize the knowledge of this group to better defend
myself if they come back with an answer I am not happy
with like, "Ducati won't cover this etc."
I have always found that it never hurts to attempt to
educate yourself before you go into the dealership
about TSBs (technical service bulletins)etc. Many
times, as it is with Daimler Chrysler for example with
my Magnum, they won't share a TSB with you even though
it effects your vehicle. But if you inform them they
will perform the service. That is why I treasure
www.lxforums.com so much for my vehicle in that
regard. We often know much more than any one dealer
can because we are more passionate and knowledgeable
about the vehicles than they are most of the time.
Thanks,
Sandman

since they put the rubber stoppers on the exhausts
we've seen only a
couple do it. can't really work out why, given the
rubber thingys keep
the fairings away well. we'd usually undo all the
exhaust fasteners and
try to push the front header up, even using a jack
under it, to try to
lift everything away from the fairing as much as
possible. haven't had
any do it twice from memory. i'd assume your dealer
will approach the
importer as per usual to do a warranty on it, we done
a few.
WARNING - RANT: altho i don't understand why people
consult the list
first instead of their dealer. going in with
"ammunition" from the
internet most likely just pisses them off. it pisses
me off when people
treat me like they've just assumed i'm an arsehole who
has to be put in
his place. the dealer doesn't decide whether it's
warranty, the importer
does.
sorry if that's not you, but it just annoys me. :RANT
OVER.
