This is the first big red flag.  The second red flag is that you asked for
the VIN number and he didn't give you one.  Wherever the bike is located,
tell him you have friends in the area who'd like to come see the bike.
You'll probably hear that the bike is somewhere else entirely and locked up
in storage so there's no way to see it.  Red flag #3.  If you really press
the issue of having someone you trust look at the bike in person before
buying, I suspect the seller will disappear.

You could also contact eBay and ask them to verify that the auction was not
created on a hijacked account.
