[Ducati] 749R

I would have the dealer run the ECM diagnostics to see what faults it has
logged.
If it cuts the fuel or stops the engine without a key off or cut off
switch.....there is a fault shutting the engine off.

The diags should tell you...or the dealer's ODB2 reader what the problem is.

As far a a "cammy" engine.....yea it has agressive cams, but that has
NOTHING to do with the engine cutting out.
What year is your 749R???
I just got my 749D '06 and no problems like that so far.

I would suspect Clayton Potter is your best resource on 749R. He has been
running one since they came out and is very knowledgeable. Rich

any ideas on the problems I am having with my
bike.
I have had a 749R for about 18 months and it has gone back into the dealers
for the upteenth time.
The first couple of months I had no problems apart from cutting out(dealer
said it's a cammy engine they all do that)
First of all when I come to traffic lights there is a good chance that as
come to a stop it will cut out either immediately or within a few seconds.
The second thing that is happening is that when I accelerate hard it will
get up to 8k or so and suddenly as if a switch was being turned on & off
pull /die/ pull.
(when I say pull i mean continue accelerating) A few times during
acceleration it will die completely ,with the bike coming to a complete
stop. When I press the starter it will fire up again as long as I give it a
second or two before pressing it.If I press the starter straight away it
will not turn the engine.
The engine management light does not come on at any time.
The dealer has checked the bike over and says that all of the settings are
as they should be.
This is my first Ducati and to be honest if this keeps on it might be my
last.

The warranty is coming to an end in June so I am a bit worried that if no
solution arises he will start charging me.
Is it worth contacting Ducati direct,I am in the U.K. by the way.

Any comments would be appreciated.
