With Ducati, my experience is the Dealer. Italians count on relationships very much. My dealer is the oldest (the first) Ducati dealer in Pennsylvania (Mikmar Motors) and the owner has a long standing relationship with the factory. Last year when I ordered new Ducati Corse perforated one piece leathers. I was the first in the US to get them (late Winter).
I am also only 30 min. from Fast By Ferracci. When he was "in favor" with the factory and still racing, parts came within 5 days. Now that he has fallen "out of favor", it takes longer!

21 days? Count your blessings - my last Aprilia order took four months.
