what about the 250 GP race last weekend - more like a
125 race. pretty spectacular for those people like us
aussies who get all the action live.
the british SBK series is much like the world series
with bike specs the same unlike usa.
pity ducati went away from the original head stud
material they had been using from the 50s until the
new belt bikes. the silver then gold stud material
that kept breaking has now been superceded to ones
that look like the old 10 grade used in the bevel
motors without problems. i just got a set under the
latest ( for this week anyway) part number 76610012B.
One of the old studs had broken off below the case
joint so was a pain to remove short of pulling the
engine & sticking under a spark eroder.with a LOT of
patience & a set of bosch multi construction drils
designed for ceramics & other tough material i was
able to slowly drill out the remains. EVERY toolbox
should have a set of the common sizes.
