One thing I might add to this thread is while earning my A&P I had the
oppertunity to disassemble alot of aircraft powerplants and in almost every
case the things were assembled with waisted bolts and studs. Maybe the
engineers knew something I didnt at the time. And some of this stuff was
older than me (52) and probably in better shape . Also It was a big FAA no
no to lube threads of a torgued fastner.
