[Ducati] Waisted bolts ...

waisted torque to yield bolts are fairly common in some industries - they use/used to use them in the front struts of the holden commodore (aust family car, big seller). of course, they were single use only and naturally everyone outside the dealers reused them without thinking about it.

i did work experience on planes as a schoolkid and i thought they used lots of them there. the idea being torque accuracy is no longer important, as the plastic strength is a known thing once reached. quite a natty idea really. one of the things we studied at uni, that i've since forgotten.

isn't it also a 'look here for signs of a problem' thing? they love that stuff in planes.
