[Ducati] Which 900 engines had the bad studs

I believe that the studs were stainless steel type 440C, or something similar.  That is a ferritic stainless steel with very high strength characteristics that can be through hardened by heat.  The studs were definitely a hardened material.

Stainless steel is absolutely the wrong material for engine studs. It's way too weak for that application. What were they thinking?
