[Ducati] Which 900 engines had the bad studs

Rich ... I'm certainly not an engineer, but I know the motor mount bolts on
my Audi 5 cylinder powered Volkswagon Eurovan/Westfalia are "waisted" ...
Also a very highly stressed bolt (grade 10.5, the motor/transmission HANGS
from 2 of them)

that waisted section breaks. Do you work in the aviation mechanics field?
Where do you see such fasteners routinely?
