  Hi all

Since I got my new to me 2004 Multistroodle I have been having some issues that I cannot figure out. Maybe the good folk here at the list can answer them for me.

  1) How do you remove the rider’s seat? The only info I can get from the shop manual is that it seems the whole tank assembly has to come off and then somehow you can address the seat removal from there. Is this so?? Please advise.

  2) My instruments do not work for $hit. The toggle button (B) will toggle down the different functions but when I stop toggling for one second the console goes back to showing mileage and the check engine light goes on. At this time the toggle (B) button has no effect and I am unable to get anything to happen until I turn off the bike and turn it back on. But that only gets me back to where I was with the same instrument woes. So basically all the functions, including the trip-o-meter are useless.

--also the speedometer seems to read really high (like 10%). Is this a 'normal' Multistrada characteristic?

Are problems with the instrument cluster inherent with 2004 Multistradas? Would DNA replace or somehow fix the problem even thought the bike is no longer under warranty? My dealer has reset the computer 2 times to try to fix the problem but to no avail and it does not seem they want to go any further in addressing the issue, even though I bought the bike (used) from them.

  3) The fuel gauge empty light goes on when I have used only 2.5 gallons of fuel. This is very annoying as I get paranoid I will soon run out of gas even though there should be plenty. I asked the dealer how much gas does the tank hold and he said only 3.5 gallons. But the manual says 20 liters (about 5 gallons?). What’s the real scoop here?

Other than that I love the bike J

  Ride well! And Thank You

  Gabriel
