Not true and part of the mythos that was Foggy.  Foggy, in '97 or '98  
insisted there was flexing in the SSS so Ducati made up a DSS for a 916 for him  to 
test. Result? There was no discernable difference.  However, seeing as  how 
Ducati has developed a DSS that is just as strong or stronger and lighter in  
weight there really is no need to return to a SSS.  The advantage of faster  
tire changes for racing is even moot nowadays.
 
It's highly unlikely that Ducati would return to a SSS on their flagship  
Superbike even if they retain it on the current crop of Monsters and  
MultiStrada-saurous'.
 
These images are fanciful conjectures that seem like wishful thinking of  
fans of the old 916 to me more than anything else.
