[Ducati] Ethanol blends

I suppose the Triumph uses an inexpensive narrow band O2 sensor, or the ECU is programmed to allow only a small variation in fuel enrichment. A mass air sensor on the intake would be a great addition, and probably solve some of these issues.

Hi Ron

I have a question you might be able to help me with.
Triumph's new 1050 speed triple has a closed loop injection system.
I've had a friend install a ZARD pipe and the performance tanked as well as
drive ability
He tried to work around it with a PowerCommander and an O2 Commander. Still
nothing!
The O2 commander is a sensor that overrides the signal for the O2 sensor and
allows you to tailor the signal to your liking, Leaner or Richer. Nether
worked.

He finally talked to someone at Triumph and procured an off road map for the
ecu.
This map is loaded when you purchase a set of Triumph Off Road Pipes for the
bike!

After installing the map the bike runs perfect!
So now, I'm thinking that even these closed loop systems have limits built
into them as to what they can do and what they are designed to do! Read
"Emisions" here!

Nothing is perfect!
