Thank you George and the hill house gang for the warm hospitality that
Andy and I received Wednesday night. I ,et sop many folks, that I
remained confused constantly. We even met a fellow hillbilly from
Arkansas who said "them darn shoes was a hurtin hisn feet like ourn
were". Hot, hot is not Laguna Seca at 105. Hot is Arkansas at 80 with
90% humidity. Air conditioned hotels would have been nice though the
cement pond was always nice.
I never received from anyone an answer to my question about a
list of faults that would cause a check engine light. I meant to
include with my request that it was not over temperature. It was
actually cool on the ride when I began having the problem.
I am not one to wait too long so I began searching for the
problem and found that the front cylinder was cutting out. This is a
problem which I discovered some time ago and thought that I had it fixed
when I re-soldered the connector. The previous time however, the check
engine light did not come on. This time I swapped the coil with a spare
I had and the problem has disappeared for 200 miles. I hope it stays
away.
One of my employees turned over my 999r while putting it on the
work bench. I nearly cried. I wanted to yell! "It is just a damned
bike". I tried to remember. The fairing which the seat touches is
broken. Not terribly but tearfully. The right mirror/turn signal mount
is broken. I don't know if I can even buy replacement parts. (carbon)
Will someone direct me to a source please? Or perhaps someone can offer
the name of a repairman who can repair the broken piece.
Laguna was a blast and I enjoyed meeting all of you other
ducatisi.
