I have had both Sharkskinz and AirTech parts. Both have similar build
qualities, but for me (96 900SP) the fit of the Sharkskinz was a lot better.
I had to do a little trimming on the AirTech parts to get them to fit just
right.
Also, I believe the people at Sharkskinz can do some custom work. I would
ping them to see about doing a set for an 851 (jealous of that bike, btw...)
Of course, for OEM, just set a watch on eBay - you might get lucky...
Welcome to the list!

Subject: [Ducati] New member with a bodywork question
Ciao!
I'm new to the list, though I've had my '92 851 since it was new. I have a
couple questions about bodywork for my bike.
I recently tried to order some new fairing parts from my dealer, only to be
told they've been discontinued. So my plan is to get some aftermarket parts
(AirTech or Sharkskinz) to keep on the bike, while looking for factory parts
to keep wrapped and safely stored away in case I need them. I've been
looking all over the net, and many of the aftermarket companies don't even
make parts for my bike.
So question #1 is: Does anyone have any input on AirTech vs Sharkskinz? Is
one or the other easier to install? Or is there a better option? It's not a
track bike, so I need the street version of the fairing. And I can't afford
carbon fiber.
Question #2: Does anyone know where I can get an original factory fairing
for my bike? Is it hopeless?
Thanks in advance for any leads you can send me.
