That seems about right. I paid $4200 for mine two months ago locally here
in Michigan but that included a few boxes of spare engine parts, almost
enough to build a spare engine. I missed out on a nice one with 6k miles
last August for $3500.

The previous owner of my bike replaced the front rotors with Brembo GP
pieces. I got lucky there! :-)

What gearing did you have on that bike? Was the engine stock? My SP will
just barely lighten the front wheel going into 2nd. It won't lift it off
the ground unless I really abuse it.
Personally, I really like the look of the SP over the CR so that was a big
factor to me. Now that I've had it, I am glad I got the SP because when I
got it, the suspension was misadjusted terribly. After a few weeks of
tweaking one thing at a time, now it handles very nicely. I can also
stiffen it up for a track event and smoothen it out for the street. That is
a definite advantage of the SP I think.
