[Ducati] 98 916 alternator to regulator connector

Thanks.  That is probably what I will do.  What gauge wire is 
standard on these?  Is it 12gauge?  I guess I will just cut the
wire where it comes out of the left side engine cover and solder
in 2 10 or 8 gauge wires and then solder before it gets to the 
regulator.  I recently had a bad battery and I'll bet the connector
melted while it was trying to recharge the battery, run the headlight,
fan and my old fuel filter.
