the two wires on the two phase alts are fine if you seperate them and heat shrink them individually.  if we replace the connectors we use similar looking bullet connectors - they work just fine, must be a contact surface area thing.

the retrofit shindengan regulator kits came about when they went to the shindengan reg as std fitment for the '98 models.  if you had a regulator replaced under warranty from then on and had a ducati reg originally then you got the retrofit kit.  the two pin blade connectors they came with tho always burnt out - obviously two blade connectors don't work as well as 3 blade connectors at lower current or two bullet connectors.

bullet connectors, some silicon spray to keep the corrosion out and heatshrink will give no problems.
