[Ducati] 998 with spongy front brake

Welcome, Stefano.

If you're certain that your bleed job was good and thorough, you might try wrapping something (a bungee cord?) around the brake lever and grip, leaving it that way overnight.

Pump the brake lever a few times, on the last stroke squeeze the lever as close to the grip as possible.
Then, while holding it there, wrap the lever in place. This will allow those stubborn air bubbles to migrate upwards through the line, through the master cylinder, and into the brake fluid reservoir.

HTH's.

Subject: [Ducati] 998 with spongy front brake

Hallo everyone,

I'm a new entry of the list. My name is Stefano and I'm living in Italy. I
recently fell in love with Ducati bikes and I bought a used 998S. Actualy
I'm living in Imola very close to Bologna where our beloved bikes born.

Here my question to you "oldmen" of the Ducati world.

The front brake of my 998 is spongy and the feeling become even worse after
some time riding using the brake.

I guarantee it isn't a pleasant sensation.

Today I try to bleed the system and Some air comes out from it but the brake
feel still spongy.

What could be the reason anyone have some experience?

Stefano
