[Ducati] 2000 Bimota SB8R Question

Does anyone know if the 2000 Bimota SB8R was ever sold in the U.S. through a 
U.S. dealer with full EPA/DOT compliance?  I'm sure a few came in gray 
market though back channels, but I don't believe it was ever a legal EPA/DOT 
bike.  Anyone know for sure?
