if you do a search under VM MOTORI you will find that
their engines are used in a lot of usa vehicles these
days due to a drip down of various owners. taken over
by detroit diesel which was taken over by daimler
chrysler. VM now has penske as a major share holder (
this may have changed the way the corporate world
works ) who make shocks for use on ducatis.
i have a 1972 400cc ducati diesel engine - i rang the
local DD importer, who took over all VM spares years
ago, looking for parts. not only did the parts guy
know what i was talking about he had a piston & gasket
set in stock + was able to supply a parts & service
book for future reference. try that at your local
ducati dealer.
i went to one in south oz & the pimple face kid behind
the counter did not know that ducati built single
cylinder bikes - he even had to ask someone older what
a paso was.
