Right you are Mark,
but your message took me back a couple of years when George Betzhold and I
were staying at the Los Laureles Lodge and as we rolled in one day, there in
the back of the truck was a 1991 750SS with the for sale sign on it. Turns
out the owner of the lodge had it up for sale and George, smart fella he is,
snapped it up. This bike had been featured in an article about how the SS
should have been built, and included all the upratings required, including
getting rid of the original carb. However the best part (IMHO) was the fact
that the leathers that the owner had, didn't fit George, as he is taller.
However on a hunch, I bought these beautiful Bates leathers. Sure enough,
they turned out to fit my daughter in law Heidi just perfectly. And now she
has a 620 Monster.
So come see us and Heidi, at the Pantah/Bevel Head dinner on friday nite
(21st) at the Los Laureles lodge hill house. It is the one on the top center
of their home web page. email myself (but only up to friday the 14th) or
George Betzhold (he is bringing his laptop) and let us know you are coming
so we can provide plenty of food for your delight. We do have lots of high
quality homebrew available.
ciao,
peter bonner

If you like the 750, you'll like the 900. Same chassis, same weight, larger
motor with more torque and hp. Much easier to find a 91-98 900SS than a
750.
CR fairings pop up used now and then -- I've sold several sets. Ducati
Kamna sells a set that are slightly smaller than the OEM half-fairings and
really fit the lines of the bike better.
