Congrates Gregg, welcome to the half century club. Sounded like the kind of
Birthday we all would love to enjoy. Are you ready for the second half ? I
turned 53 in June and to tell you the truth I really dont feel any different
than I did when I was 43. Have a long life Dude !
Peace...Ron"Desmohead"Betts 95 900 SP
I've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it!

>I hope all is well with my fellow ducati listers! My 50th bday was on
>Sunday, July 2nd, quite the milestone. Fortunately with the Grace of God I
>do not
>feel 50, unless it is a very cold morning or the day after a very long and
>hard judo practice. Well, anyway Sunday was a typical summer day here in
>Montana, 85 degrees and no humidity. I recorded the Formula 1 and MotoGp
>race so I
>was free, to a certain point, I am still married. I pulled the 748s/853 out
>of
>the garage, filled the tank with some race fuel, actually 1 gallon of 110
>octane before I fill up at the pump.
>
>I headed north up I-15 towards the canyon road, it winds along the Missouri
>River, for some fun. The more I ride my duc the more I love it, I road
>everywhere I wanted at 100+, up the interstate at 130+. I stopped in Wolf
>Creek for
>some soft ice cream and an espresso and back on the bike. My next road was
>Hwy 434, this goes northwest along the rocky mountain front, absolutely
>beautiful scenery and long open turns that you can cruise at 100+ and not
>see
>another vehicle. I headed west at this point on Hwy 200 up and over the
>pass into
>Lincoln for some petro and some iced espresso. I hung out for a while and
>talked bikes with a few people, mostly checking out my bike as ducatis are
>a
>rare item in Montana. I then got back on the bike and headed south on Hwy
>279,
>this goes over Fletcher pass, the scenery is great and so is the road, long
>turns, tight twisties and no police.
>
>I made that last turn into my garage, stopped first in the driveway to wash
>the bugs. I went in to cap the ride with watching the Formula 1 race and
>the
>MotoGP sucking down a very large mimosa. The ride, the races were all
>great,
>but was all beat when my 9 year old daughter, Rylee, came and sat on the
>couch
> next to me to watch the races with her Dad.
>
>We finished the day by going to the Marysville House, a small restaurant in
>an old mining town north of Helena. You can get a 24oz T-bone from Montana
>beef for $23, it is served on a paper plate, but who cares.
>
>Quite the 50th bday!!
>
>Gregg
>Helena, Montana
>2000 748s/853
