[Ducati] getting blown off by a BMW

Gotta watch those Beemers.  Years ago a friend and I were riding dirt bikes up the old stagecoach road out of Calastoga, paused to cool off and let the testrone levels drop a bit, when we noted a funny throbbing sound coming up the trail behind us.  Sure enough, it was a Beemer, with side car and rider, chugging up the trail we had just conquered with all our manly skills.  Bummer, I mean Beemer.  Later, Mike

i also got lapped by mike hailwood the year he rode an
750SS ducati so no shame in that as well. i did
actually pass him as he was coming back onto the track
from a fuel stop but that does not really count.
mike was a real down to earth guy - like paul smart
for those that have met him at the many ducati
functions in the last few years - just happy to sit in
the pits after the races & sink a few drinks with the
other riders & spectators.
