  Worked my way thru college in a few custom sailboat shops.  Kicked alot of high tech glass.  Acetone works on cleaning GRP layups.  Water can get under the layers and cloud things up as well as weakening it (GRP is permeable).  Always use heavy duty chemical gloves with this stuff as its cumulative effects can be nasty.
