 Starting in the late 60's, as a little pup we had 2 smoke dirt bikes.  Living near 240,000 acres of state forests touching 3 different states, we found many old fire roads to run around on.  The forest rangers were no match for a young teen with no fear.  Then in 1977, I got a GS550 Suzook and proceeded to race anything I could find on the street.  One 'race' was with a local cop who crashed after not making a turn which ripped his cruisers suspension off.  Other stunts included max speed runs on public roads and close calls with innocents.  As they say, to be old & wise, one must first be young and stupid.
