[Ducati] Bike Cam for 998 matrix

As far as I have gone with video recording on-bike was to mount my camcorder (Sony TRV87 - w/stereo mic) in/on a tank bag atop a 2" - 3" foam pad. Ran a camera mounting bolt through a piece of 3/4" plywood the dimension of the tank bag interior floor. I kept it low enough on my 996S to capture the tach/speedo for interest.
Sony remote stereo mics - one mounted on tail just above the can outlets (great sound!), the other one inside my helmet.
I found out that I mumble to myself a bit - especially the time I captured a van driver trying to block me from passing uphill on a canyon run...he ran me very wide to the left a few times. I finally squirted past the jerk-off.
Fun to view it/listen to it. Ripping through canyon roads (for example, Hwy 84 up to Alice's from Woodside, CA), passing vehicles, hard braking/leaning, etc., appeared far more dangerous on tape than in reality.
A good comparative perspective.
Flat straights/high speed sweepers made for boring viewing.
You might start there (home brew tank bag mounting) and proceed.
The tank bag deal allowed me to mount the cam on my other bikes.
Sorry, I have no experience w/helmet-mounted cams.
Good luck.

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a camera for my bike but I'm not sure as to
weather I should get one that mounts to the tank or my helmet. Moreover, I'm
not too familiar with either one. I did some searching and noticed that many
of the cameras I came across require addition equipment to record which
puzzled me. Could anyone point me in the right direction.
