I think Simple Green works pretty good too.

Subject: [Ducati] Degreaser
I would caution everyone about buying so called degreasers off the shelf. Most have tiny print that states not to use it on aluminum. Eats aluminum, chalky white abrasive paint and finish killer, makes you mad it does.
They are not kidding.... Right Cloner! I also had the paint spotted on my rims which had to be repainted (99 996).
Dawn is fantastic for cutting grease and it keeps your hands smooth too ;o ). Unless you shrivel up and then the soap makes your hands feel like a Harley mechanic.
What makes this post worth reading is this little secret grease cutter with only one bad side effect.... WD-40!!
Grease falls off the sprocket's, motor, and all the hard to get to places, like the atomic structure was nuked! Water washes it away like a high priced solvent.
The only problem I've noticed is don't spray your brake rotors with the stuff....But I shouldn't have to tell you guys that.... Right?
