Since there have been no happy holiday posts thus far, I'll start. I hope that religious beliefs or non-beliefs will not muddle the experience of any of the open minded listers. As it is the holiday that I celebrate at this time of year, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, as well as Happy Holidays to everyone who celebrates anything besides Christmas. It was 60 degrees here in Jersey today, and I had a great one hour ride today. I could not find a red suit to wear while I rode, although I did have my wife tie a wreath to the back of my jacket before I left. It didn't quite get the looks that the Ducati Santa did in the video, but a few thumbs-up were thrown my way. So once again, I am reminded at this time of year how lucky we are to be able to participate in this wonderful passion that is ours, and those of us who have the good fortune to have more than a couple of bikes are truly fortunate. Now if I can wake up Monday morning and find a gift card for a 1098 under the tree, things would be even more dokey. My wife doesn't begrudge me very much, although when I announced yesterday that a 1098 would be my next bike, she reminded me of my commitment from this summer, (after we borrowed my buddy's '04 Road King for a weekend, and she fell in love with two-up riding-and I have to admit that it was a fabulous first timer Harley experience........) to get a bike we could ride together on. I lovingly pointed out that there is a spot for a passenger on the 1098, but all I got for a response was that look in the eyes that said, "I don't think so............ Time will tell. Anyway, it is a joy being involved with all of you on the list, and was very special to meet some of you at Laguna this summer.
Steve
