It seems that this is not an isolated case after all.
I have asked a few of my colleagues in the Ducati service arena here if they
have seen any worn guides and so far they are surprised that this is
happening and no one is saying they have come across the problem.
Maybe we are going to see more in Australia as they clock up the miles.
This one's exhaust valves are crap also, all pitted around the seating area
and not sealing, no wonder it wouldn't idle.
The valve seats are bronze type (probably aluminium/bronze alloy) similar to
the old bevel drive models, which didn't work that well. I wonder why they
changed from the hard material they have been using for years now which has
worked so well? Ducati leave me scratching my head sometimes.
