Hmmm... OK.

I know Larry Kelly did just that - IIRC, he mounted his on the license 
plate bracket to get better airflow and cooling. A lot of the VFR guys 
do something similar as theirs is located behind the rear cylinder bank, 
near the shock and rear headers.
