[Ducati] Need a GhostBuster

OK, lets see if I can stump the band here... Last night, after
tucking the Triplo9 away after the commute home, I returned to the
garage an hour later to the strangest thing I've ever seen a bike do:
the '02 ST4s, parked adjacent to the 999, had its headlight on,
radiator fan going full blast and apparently the ignition ON, ready
for take-off even as I had the key in my hand and the ignition switch
was in the Off & Locked position. The key in the ignition switch in
any position would not change the fault; only removal of the main
fuse at the dash chased away the poltergeist. Just to check which
circuits were kicking in, I replaced the fuse and sure enough, the
fuel pump fired up for its pre-start pressurization cycle. Other than
jealousy over being regularly left in the garage by me and my 999 ,
or a ghost rider ready to taker 'er for late night spin, does anybody
have a rational explanation for this behavior? The bike hasn't been
started in about three weeks and is on a trickle charger at 2 milliamps.

My guess is the ignition switch or ECU went teats-up, but I'm hoping
for a cheaper explanation. anybody seen this one before or have any
ideas?
