Thanks for the info Steve, the explanation of how desmo decreases the friction of the valve gear, especially in high RPM engines, I found very interesting.  It is my understanding that desmo also allows for steeper ramps on the cam lobes, again because of less friction and inertia.  later, Mike D. Bike
