[Ducati] Ducati out, AMA v WSBK, AMA RANT

"WSBK is more fun to watch than AMA anyways. Closer racing, more
exciting passes, and its got Troy Bayliss in it. How can you go wrong?"

Plus, WSBK has Yamaha racing at the front. AMA......not. WSBK wins out in my book for every category, every time.

I have to rant here at Ron Barrick and the AMA. I was on the grid and in the paddock for the Supersport race on Sunday at VIR. The race was red flagged after a turn one incident were Josh Herrin blasted in and hit our rider, Tony Meiring. Freddie Spencer sounded completely uninformed by failing to mention Tony when the numerous replays were shown.

The bikes came back to the pits for the red flag clean up. The AMA officials came up and down pit lane and said that the bikes would leave their pit box, circulate for one lap (their warm up lap) and then form on the grid for the start. Well, Ron Barrick decided to have the bikes do their lap, but then sit on the grid and go through the entire 5 minute, 3 minute, 1 minute count down, then do the warm up lap and come back for the start. EVERYONE was caught out, as we then had to run down to the grid with stands and tire warmers.

It was not until I got to watch the race when I figured out why Ron made the change. He was delaying the start so Yamaha could get Herrin's bike fixed and back for the start. I also got to see Barrick pick up Herrin at turn one after the incident in the VIR pace Mercedes and bring him back.

Barrick needs to be shown the door. Blatant favoritism is akin to fixing a fight or race.

I could go on and on with my frustration with the series, Herrin's on track antics and Barrick, but that's a whole 'nother long email.
