[Ducati] 749 Exhaust

I did this to my '06 749Dark

http://www.ducatistore.co.uk/acatalog/Ducati_749_Performance_Parts.html

It's the assymetrical system. Best system for the price. I wanted to keep
the wallet around 1500, and the fit had to be perfect.

The difference is that this system uses the same can as the Termi full
system, but still utilizes the assymetric sytle and fueling of the original
exhaust system. Also, get's rid of the pre-cat in the front cylinder pipe.

You get the sound and the cooler running, just not the equal length pipes
for maximum HP increase. You won't knotice the difference between the 2
systems unless you goto a dyno.

If you wanted to "core out" your own system (remove the cat and baffling),
It's easy to cut out the cat in the pipe...but a bit more work to get all
the baffles out of the can. The end result is a very "tinny" souding
exhaust.....kinda like those cheapo tips for the Honda 4-cyl cars, etc...

Sounds like crap.

So, if you're on a budget....get the Termi Assymetrical system......
If you have the cash, I would go for the full system from Termi.
Fit and finish is just like the stock, only lighter, etc.....

Another company I looked at was ZARD....they make a nice system
http://www.section8superbike.com/cgi-bin/section8/flypage.html?mv_arg=00028

These guys are great (section8) They will help you find exactly what you
need for your spec bike with no problems. The only issue is that they dont
sell the Assymetrical exhaust, I was only able to find that at the UK Ducati
link above

Good luck and have fun
_Alex

Have you considered/looked into Termignoni? I put a full system on mine
late last year and I've been very happy with it. I think I got about 5
more HP out of it and could swear it's cooler (temperature) than the stock
exhaust under the saddle. I think the exhaust note is near perfect--if a
little loud.
