All I have ever done on anything with a cam belt,including many belt changes
on my 95 , is check tension on the slack side by twisting the belt. You
should not be able to twist the belt to half a turn. I keep mine at about a
quarter twist. Been working for me for many years and havent had a failure,
yet....Knock on wood !
