[Ducati] 748 suspension problem

Marko and Scott,
Thanks for the suggestions. It does seem the rear shock is the culprit so
far. I checked the settings on the rebound and compression damping and both
were open two turns instead of the stock setting of 1 turn, so softer on
both settings. I dialed the rebound in to one turn and left the compression
as-is, and things definitely improved, but not quite back to what it was. I
don't have and haven't been able to find locally a spanner wrench to adjust
preload on the shock. However it looks like it might just be time for a new
one, as the bouncing seems to be coming back after riding another 100 miles
or so.

Scott, I just got the bike 4 months ago, so I don't know if the fork oil has
ever been changed. I do plan on doing that along with some other
maintenance stuff this winter, but I was trying to get through the rest of
the season without tearing into the thing too much.

Thanks,
John
