USAA will occasionally stop writing policies for certain things.  Every few
years they stop doing motorcycles, but if you call back a few months later
they're doing them again.  Recently I got fed up with my boat insurer and
called USAA for an estimate.  They said they weren't writing boat policies
at the time, but I could probably get one if I just called back in a few
months.  Sure enough, 2 months went by and they're insuring my sailboat now.
