I'm a PC gamer. GPL, Superbikes, Sportcar GT, Unreal Tournament, Battlefield, A-A etc. When it was first released people like me on
dial up could play America's Army and hold our own. I went out and bought a 21" monitor just so I could see those dang targets to
get my sniper's rating. I think my marksmanship score was a 39. I earned a 31 Honour playing good team tactics with total strangers,
(and I had an average ping of 400+). Needless to say, I haven't played this game on-line since about ver. 1.7 or maybe it was 1.9.
Obviously, I've not advanced my Honour for several years now. I do have the latest ver. though. I drive an hour (one way) to LAN
with a couple of ex racer buddies of mine and their young freinds a couple times a year. They seem to prefer the whole Battlefield
franchise. At our last LAN party we played BF2 almost exclusively. Although I much prefer the live or die reality of AA. The
strategy and stealth required to stay alive and reach your objectives far outshines the mindless run and gun, die then respawn
dozens of times of some of those other titles. Mind you, UT can be a real hoot with a room full of young wannabe frag masters. ;-)
